“Sintel” is an independently produced short film, initiated by the Blender Foundation as a means to further improve and validate the free/open source 3D creation suite Blender. With initial funding provided by 1000s of donations via the internet community, it has again proven to be a viable development model for both open 3D technology as for independent animation film.
This 15 minute film has been realized in the studio of the Amsterdam Blender Institute, by an international team of artists and developers. In addition to that, several crucial technical and creative targets have been realized online, by developers and artists and teams all over the world.
We ( interns at Zeus ) decided to watch the movie and were really surprised to find that just 2 theaters were showing the movie .. None of the standard multiplexes …. Then Ali told me of the strike going on between the film community and the multiplex owners and hence we had no choice but to watch it at RAHUL . A single screen theater that I had not visited in years since ESquare (a multiplex ) was started . Suprisingly it had a nice decor . They had just renovated it , probably thats why ….
Its a decent one time watch , but not as fast and exciting as its book . Probably guys who made it could have done a better job with the skill at hand …. Anyways a decent watch again for anyone who has not read the book ….. 😉
A wonderful watch. Directed by Tony Scott and featuring Brad Pitt and Robert Redford. The movie sets the pace right in the beginning and involves you in every bit of the action till the end. Brad Pitt and Robert Redford have done a wonderful job. So get ready to play the Game …. 😉
Amazing movie . Stunning , pacy thriller . Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher have done a superb job in portraying their respective characters and probably very few actors in the film industry would have done justice to the role. Its a movie about the aaj ka burning issue terrorism in the name of jihad and beautifully essays the frustration and tension among the common man in the city of Mumbai. Really nice watch…. Dont miss this one.
Radiohead just released a new video for its song “House of Cards” from the album “In Rainbows”.
No cameras or lights were used. Instead two technologies were used to capture 3D images: Geometric Informatics and Velodyne LIDAR. Geometric Informatics scanning systems produce structured light to capture 3D images at close proximity, while a Velodyne Lidar system that uses multiple lasers is used to capture large environments such as landscapes. In this video, 64 lasers rotating and shooting in a 360 degree radius 900 times per minute produced all the exterior scenes.
I watch hindi movies rarely (rarely means around 2 or 3 a year). So what propelled me to watch this movie??Well nothing really…. Sriram , Chaitu had decided to go for a movie and i just tagged along. Sriram , Chaitu and Nek had already been to Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic and had regretted their decision (I expected it ….. 🙂 ).
The Movie:(Contains no spoilers … 🙂 )
The movie is a story of love. Not a love story … since these two words bring a specific template in hindi movie viewers minds….. Its a story of love between a group of friends , focussing on the lives of two very close friends Jai Singh ‘Rats’ Rathore(Imran Khan) and Aditi ‘Meow'(Genelia D’Souza) (Both look very cute throughout the movie….. 🙂 ).
Its a very refreshing movie that leaves one with a sense of lightening (couldnt think of anything else….meant to be something which lightens u up and kindof uplifts ur mood….. 🙂 ). A.R.Rahman has done a superb job with the music.Really nice watch….
Congrats to Aamir ,Imran,Genelia,Karan,Nirav,Alishka,Sugandha,Renuka for a job very well done….. nice work and do bring such refreshing films periodically ….. 🙂
Sat through the entire movie….yup …usually i watch movies in vlc with my fingers on CTRL and arrow keys…
Amazing movie….What startled me was the detail in animation that Pixar studios pay attention to.The kitchen looked real …the arrangement that is ,also the food design was stunning.(on the basis of the food they used to serve in the TV series Hells Kitchen….:) ).Eager to try out the recipes mentioned in the movie…hope i get them and also hoping for them to be easily modified for vegetarians.A nice mix of humour and anticipation for the viewer. What I loved specially was the ending …. a few thoughts for all those who call themselves critics…lovely deep thoughts and the Gusteaus idea of ‘Anybody Can Cook’.
